If the Burrup Hub project goes ahead according to Woodside’s plans, it will be in production until 2070. It will emit four times the emissions of the Adani coal mine, making it Australia’s most polluting fossil fuel project. This is simply unacceptable.

School Strike for Climate WA are calling on everyone to join them outside the Convention Center on 22nd September to show that Woodside’s Burrup Hub and the added pollution it would produce are neither wanted or needed.

The School Strike for Climate demonstration will focus on the recovery we want and need. We demand no public funds for gas and other damaging fossil fuel projects. Instead, recovery funds should be spent on:

  • Projects that transition our economy and communities to 100% renewable energy by 2030, through expanded public ownership
  • The creation of jobs that fast-track solutions to the climate crisis and help communities recover
  • Resourcing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led solutions that guarantee land rights and care for country

Join us and School Strike for WA at the Convention Center to say: Fund our future, not gas! #Fundourfuturenotgas
