Climate Bills in Federal and State Parliaments

In the near future, independent MP Zali Steggall will introduce a private member’s Climate Change Bill into Federal Parliament, and Greens MP Tim Clifford will be introducing a Climate Change Act in the WA State Parliament.

In the near future, independent MP Zali Steggall will introduce a private member’s Climate Change Bill into Federal Parliament, and Greens MP Tim Clifford  will be introducing a Climate Change Act in the WA State Parliament.

We support the proposed Climate Change legislation by Zali Steggall and Tim Clifford because it is vital that we have a national framework that ensures Australia has:

  • A detailed risk assessment to the challenges of a warming climate across all sectors
  • National plans for adapting to those challenges
  • National long-term plans for reducing greenhouse gas emissions
  • Transparent monitoring, reporting and accountability
